“Hi, I’m James. I went into the health and fitness industry after graduating in sports studies. I was involved in a variety of roles including fitness training, children’s sports coaching and school holiday programmes. Three years ago I decided I wanted to work for myself and designed the ActivKids fitness programme. I launched it in local schools and sports venues and was soon overwhelmed with the response. I have spent these last three years fine tuning the programme and discovering the most effective ways of working with schools, local authorities and sports venues. I have put all this together in a training package for leaders to take out and launch their own business.”

“My name is Jeremy Taylor. I started my working life in 1985 with David Lloyd leisure. In 1990 I opened my first health club in partnership with Fred Turok (now Chairman of L.A Fitness) & in 1994 Fred & I were joined by a third partner (David Turner) & collectively we launched the LA Fitness Health Club group.
For the next ten years I held the position of Operations Director as the group grew from four clubs to 67 across the UK. I left LA Fitness in October 2005 following the companie's sale to an Ameican venture capital company.
My role at ActivKids is to bring my experience to bear in all areas – particularly operations & financial. Having been involved in a start up business that developed into a national brand, I have both empathy & understanding of what is required individually & collectively for ActivKids to succeed as a business.”
